Sallie Gillentine Elementary is thrilled to announce that it has received a generous $6,000 grant from the Love Family Affiliated Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. This grant, made possible by Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores, comes as part of their 60th Anniversary celebration.
The process began when Love’s recommended schools to their corporate offices, who then invited selected institutions to submit grant proposals. Mrs. Amy Estes, the Principal of Sallie Gillentine Elementary, crafted a grant proposal titled "STEAM-Not the Stove Top," aimed at acquiring materials to enhance the school’s Computer Science curriculum. The proposal included detailed learning objectives, a list of requested materials, and a timeline for implementation.
Both Hollis Public Schools and the entire elementary school community are honored to be recipients of this special donation. As pictured, our enthusiastic students celebrate with representatives from Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores at the Hollis location.
